My search revealed nothing, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. My NAD 510 will read "no disc" for 30-40 minutes after startup, then, everything is typically fine. Its first six years never required a warm-up period so my question is this: is this warm-up period a symptom of age or can i expect to find a specific culprit that can be serviced or, as i expect, i've simply got an aged unit so i should just be happy the thing even still plays and in fact, i should just leave the thing on 24/7 because that's how REAL equipment is designed to be used. What say you?

It being six years old, have you tried taking the cover off and cleaning the lens. Maybe that might help. |

Yes - i've cleaned myself, and then, even paid a shop for a "professional" cleaning -- no help. I doubt even a warm-up would help a soiled lens. |
