I'm thinking about buying either a refurb. HK AVR 225 or 230. The 230 is about $100 more. The 230 has 6.1, component video, pre-outs for 7.1 channels, and a better bass management system. I'm satisfied with 5.1, connect my video sources directly to my TV, and will not be utilizing all the pre-outs in the near future. So, is the improved bass management worth the $100 upgrade? |

i have a 230 and i like it. i wouldnt say that the bass management is necessarily worth 100 extra but i was more concerned with the 6.1 channels. eventually ill need them- you probably will too. the real questions to me are: a.) do you think you might eventually upgrade to 6.1? b.) which one would look prettier in your entertainment stand? |

Anonymous: I'd get the AVR-325 if available. If you're going on quality and price, then the AVR-230 or AVR-325 is probably the better option. Only get the 325 if you need the features, otherwise, I'd go with the AVR-230. |
