Whenever I start the player and the record starts spinning, the stylus drops on to the record, but then skips right across the record towards the middle.

Anybody know what might cause this and what I might need to replace?

.

Either the arm is not balanced correctly or there is no stylus on the cartridge's cantilever. Take it to the Panasonic repair center in your area and ask them to take a look. Balancing the arm should cost you nothing and only a repair center is likely to have a stylus assembly for this cartridge.
