Can someone please kindly recommended a good receiver for me?
i have digital cable service and a ps3. that's all i have.

If Acoustimass® 3 Series IV speaker system is your speaker system, any receiver will probably do but your concern is your digital cable and PS3.

Digital cable is capable of providing HD audio/video via HDMI output.
PS3 is capable of providing HD audio/video via HDMI output as well.

Ideally, your prospective receiver will need to be able to receive HDMI input and allow the HD video to your monitor (TV) and process/decode the HD audio to your speakers. If you play alot of blu-ray movies, you will need 3 HDMI inputs for a blu-ray dvd player instead of using PS3 as your blu-ray player.

Most of the lower price range receivers only allow HD video to pass through and not able to process/decode the HD audio via HDMI. In this case, the receiver should have 1 optical (for PS3) audio input and 1 coaxial(for digital cable) audio input.
