I know it's off-topic, but I thought you might find it interesting. http://www.siliconeer.com/past_issues/2005/january2005.html#Anchor--MA-32328 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSi6J-QK1lw |

. Let's see here, four electromagnets strong enough to hold up a two ton vehicle? Bet it demagnetizes your credit cards in the process. |

If they can find a cost effective way of putting it into production, more power to them, it does seem to be a better mouse trap, but I suspect it will find its way into Maybachs & Bugattis long before it finds its way into Fords & Chevys. |

The only use I ever had for Bose was in a car, as a recovering auto engineer they helped me a LOT way back when but I never would have suspected the chassis guys would get something like this to gnaw on! The phrase, "no highs, no lows, must be Bose" has whole new meaning!!! |

I have only read little bits about Amar Bose. Anyone have a recommendation on a biography? Probably never intended to make money, it seems, but did so when he turned his name over to marketing geniuses. |

It would be an interesting read, but I don't think a comprehensive bio exists of the man. For the most part, I HATE what the man's company has done to Hi-Fi in America, but the man is VERY successful, and the guy does seem to be somewhat of an eccentric and a modern-day electronics renaissance man. Maybe he can invent a new vacuum to give that Dyson-guy a run for his money? ...Nah, I'd prefer a phased plasma-riffle in the 40W range! |

I'd be happy with a toaster that would consistantly toast a piece of bread without burning the crap out of it or popping up every 12 seconds! |

Its 2008. Where's the flying car we were promised when we were kids? Where's the jetpack? |

...and come out with a carbon-neutral way of refining dilithium crystals. |
