Hello, i am experienced in the car audio world, but clueless when it comes to home audio. I currently have a 7.1 reciever (100w. per channel). I am going to start by using the reciever in 2 channel mode. (Money is a little tight being in college and having to pay for gas etc.) I am looking for two speakers. I prefer a more bright sound with decent bass. Midrange isn't too important to me. My budget is up to 200.00. Any speaker suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Ross |

You may be able to find some athenas in that price range as well. Not too sure of this as I really don't keep up with athena like I used to. I'd also look into wharfedale |

Chris, the Wharfedales are a good deal. However, from the OP's requirement of 'bright sound' and 'decent bass', I gather the Wharfedales may not be appropriate. He's probably looking for a more 'Klipsch' sound... my 0.02 |

Why not a satellite-subwoofer combination, since mid-range is not important? |

STO Sound & Vision also sells Mission, which might be a bit closer to the OPs request. |
