Don't hold your breath David. Much as I'd love vinyl to bounce back and start being charged sensible amounts for quality issues instead of the very high surcharges I see around, vinyl sales could double and the CD market wouldn't feel it. Also, I wonder if the newer High Definition downloads market might actually be the thing to kill the vinyl market instead - see itrax.com and hdtracks.com. CD has never been particularly good but with 24/96, 24/88 and 24/192 recordings available perhaps they can show what digital can really do, especially since as downloads they effectively cancel out half the production chain, which has to be a good thing.
