What do you guys think of Totem driven by a NAD C272? I've read that the Staffs are easier to drive than the Arros. You can probably tell where I'm going with this... |

Is this for theater purposes or music David? |

Powerful enough? Yes A good match? No I don't think they're a synergistic match. Totem makes excellent speakers, and the 272 is a very good amp. They're not a horrible match, but there's far better out there for either. A system should be better than the sum of its parts IMO. IMO a NAD/Totem combo is worse than the sum of its parts. For what its worth, Totem isn't a fan of pairing up their speakers with NAD either. E-mail them and ask if its a good combo, and if not what would they suggest for similar money. Don't be surprised by their answer. A few posters have asked Totem this or a similar question. On the other hand, your PowerPacs would make them sound phenominal. |

100% music. I'm thinking of upgrading the speakers in my dining area to Totem. The speakers in there now are currently driven by a really old, beat up NAD 2150, but I have an extra 272 I could use. What do you think? |

for straight music I wouldn't pair the C272 up with the Totem's. Use the C272 for the theater purposes and throw the PowerPacs in the two channel system. Also, make sure you have listened to the Totem line and like them. I think you probably already have. A lot of people love Totem, but a lot of people don't like them as well. FWIW- My MA/Bryston/Rega combo is making Beautiful music in the new place *pics to come*. I believe the RS6's are better at music than theater, same as totem. Something to think about. |

From the research I did, I found that the Totem/NAD combo is not so good. My gut tells me this too, just wanted to get your guys opinion. My Bryston monos are driving my MA's, so I don't want to break up that happy union. Looks like I'm in the market for a 3B or 4B... |

I knew what you meant, Art :-) I haven't seen too many Miras on the used market. What are they going for? |

Just saw 2 in the last week...one went for around $950 and they are asking about $920 for the other. Holding their value well of late. |

Cool. That's within my price range. I'm looking at used Bryston 3Bs too. |

Also you can check other threds. I had similar issue running Arros with NAD 743. I've changed it to Arcam AVR350 (avr because I am using squeezebox as a source so I need good DAC), bi amped and they sound excellent! Pablo |
