I am in the process of replacing the tweeters on my Bose 601 Series 2 speakers that I bought new the first year they were offered. I replaced the woofers 2 years ago and had like new sound.
My difficulty is the way the wires are attached, I can not get my fingers or tools in the proper way to wind the wire around the posts on the drivers because of the limited space. I have disassembled the drivers from the holders but there still is not enough room. Does any one know of a tool or method to do this? The wires are not soldered.
By the way, these are still the best speakers in thier size rating that I have ever heard. I wish they would start making them again.
The folks over at audiokarma may be able to assist you faster than we will here. It's a much larger site and it's dedicated to vintage gear and it's repair. BTW I owned those speakers when they were new...not so bad with plenty of current...anyway good luck to ya.
