I wanted to put together a bedroom setup. I am assuming I need a receiver, speakers, cd player, and cables. I do not have a budget but dont need anything too hi end due to having an already much nicer 5.1 setup upstairs. I will likely go the internet route also so please recommend some components that I can research.
We mostly listen to rock, jazz, and pop music.

A budget would help. Also, does it need to be neat? Would you prefer a system which has a little less impact on the room than a full separates? I'll assume so for now with these recommendations:

Onkyo CS715 with Totem Dreamcatchers

Arcam Solo with Dynaudio Audience 42s

Arcam Solo 2.1 with either of the above speakers or perhaps something a touch better

If in the UK, look closely at the Meridian F80 - amazing and sounds way better than many similarly priced full separates systems! http://www.thef80.com

Regards,
Frank.
