My subwoofer started buzzing the other day and its driving me mad. I disconnected it and it is still buzzing with only the power connected

Sounds like a bad power supply capacitor. Needs professional assistance. Unless it buzzes with the power disconnected, then it needs an exorcist.

now you say it buzzes with only the power connected.

you don't by chance still have the rca input cable
connected or anything else do you? because a bad/
shorted or non shielded cable will do this also.

you might even want to check all connections for
any foriegn material across any connections that
might cause this interferiance.

if that fails you could try to take it apart and
make sure there is nothing inside the unit accross
any connections like a screw or piece of wire.
