I have a "Technics SL-J3" "Direct Drive Automatic Turntable System" (or something along those lines). When i switch it on and press play, it starts spinning, but then just keeps on getting faster and faster. I know it's quite an old system, but i wondered if anybody else has had the same problem, or just knows why??? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, replace C208 on the motor PCB

If you check it prior to replacing you should find it shorted

Is there a proper way to lubricate the linear tone arm tracking? Mine could definitely use it, it slogs down near the rest position.
