Newbie here. I just bought a 1957 McIntosh mono tube amp, and need some advice on preamps from the experts. I'd like to keep it under $1K. Most of what I listen to is on vinyl and is about 50% acoustic and 50% electric, 1950s-60s era, if that helps. Any info or advice appreciated. |

. Are you looking for a mono pre amp or a stereo preamp with a mono switch? |

Either one, I suppose a stereo with a mono switch would be better, though I listen to little stereo. |

. I'd look at a pre owned Mac pre amp. Try sites such as Audiogon and Audio Classics for ideas. http://www.audiogon.com/ http://www.audioclassics.com/ |
