hello, have a problem i would like to ask you all about. i have a technics sl-qd35 turntable which i bought used. i replaced the cartridge/stylus with an ortofon omp 10. my turntable is also grounded to a screw on the back of my receiver and i run it through a preamp. i would think this would eliminate most problems, but for some reason i still hear unbearable popping noises throughout record play. they seem to become more frequent when volume increases, but sometimes there will be pops even without music playing between tracks. if i turn the volume way up when the turntable is off i can hear loud buzz and hum coming from the left channel and i hear pops as i physically turn the volume on the receiver up. do you think there is some bad wiring going on? if i turn my receiver to another channel, i don't hear any noise coming from the speakers at high volume, only on the channel that has my turntable connected. any help you can give me would be great! |

. Disconnect the turntable and try turning up the volume. If the noise is generated by the record/table, the noise will go away. |
