I braved an Ottawa snow storm to get downtown and pick up my CA 640C today. So far only listened to a few songs on it, but all I can say is WOW. I listened to the same song in FLAC format streamed from my PC via a USB DAC and there's really no comparison. The FLAC sounds dull and one-dimesional compared to the CDP. I think I get it now when people talk of "soundstage" and "depth" when listening to music. The dealer said there's a 40 hour break-in period. Seems kinda weird that you have to break in a CD player, but whatever... it sounds good outta the box. |

oh yeah, since my new years resolution of not spending any money on gear I've bought MA RS6's, a matching LCR and now this. I must be stopped. |

You could be as bad as I am. Joined the forum to get info on a better CDP and ended up changing over to an all Naim system. |

Thanks! I'm looking forward to spending more time listening to it. The next purchase is perhaps a half-decent set of inter-connects. |

Audioquest is a nice safe cable and I like Kimber Kable alot. Very good value cables. The Timbre is a killer interconnect for the money. For a few bucks more the Hero...is an award winner and for a reason. |

Thanks Art. Just out of curiosity, what would be reasonable price for the Hero cable? |

Really don't know at this point...cables have gone up recently. Seems like they are near $200 retail. |
