They came in today. Yeeehaw! Listening to them right now. The first song I listened to was Michael Buble's "Mrs. Jones", followed up by Machine Head's "Farewell to Arms" (yeah, I know... pretty eclectic). Had a smile come to face a few times already. Plus they look good too. Will post some photos soon. |

I'm already pretty impressed at how much better these sound than my Paradigms. Seriously, no contest at all. I was ready to sell my C272's because I HATED the sound of them with the Paradigms. They sound quite a bit different with the RS6's. |

Looks like I'll hang onto the NAD's for a little while longer. At least until they spontaneously combust. |

I typed more or less the same thing, but couldn't bring myself to hit the post button. I didn't want to be that guy who made it all go up in smoke. If it breaks down within the next or two, ITS MARC'S FAULT!!!! |

Yup... I'll be sending the repair to Marc. Hopefully I haven't jinxed the whole thing by bringing it up in the first place. Then again, it would be a good excuse to lay out the credit card and buy the Bryston I want. |

David, the gear (and new speakers) look great, but if those are two NAD 272's on the lower shelf sitting one on top of the other, then maybe it really won't be long before they go up in smoke. Sorry, but the fault will be yours if they do. Hey, but then maybe you really are after a Bryston (grin). |

2 words. Fire Department Dave, get those things seperated and put one each on the floor near each speaker...where they belong. |

Question, how close is the timbre match of that center vs. the mains. How close was the Paradigm center to the mains? (My Snell center is not all that good - it's boxy sounding in comparison with no depth, and read where some of the Dynaudios aren't great either.) |

No can do, Nuck. My living room is too #@@$@%!! small, plus I have an 8 month old rolling around getting very curious about things with LEDs. I have some risers between the amps and have taken the back out of the shelving unit to allow more airflow. Other than that, there's not much I can do. As for JAW's question, so far as I can tell the timbre match with the MA's is spot on, as were the Paradigms. |

Damn, life gets in the way of audio, doesn't it? The kid is a good tradeoff, though. |

Speaking of that, she really liked my MA's when I took the grills off. She wanted to put her little hands all over them. The grills went back on pronto. |

If the amp breaks down, just send me the unit, I got a few good tweaking tips from RW in another thread. |

I've heard they sound better if you fill them with concrete and then wrap them in teflon tape. |

Unfortunately Your amps will experience a shorter life due to their location. I noticed it right away and was going to say something, then decided not to. I visit another website where they often stack things on the amps (then wonder why they break down). As my friend Jim says (who is an authorized NAD dealer and warranty tech) people don't realize that one of the most preventable causes of damage to electronics is heat...they must have room to breathe or you will experience problems.... I totally understand your space consraints, however it may be time to brainstorm a new arrangement. |

Yeah, I know. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'm still thinking about buying a better audio rack, or even better, a bigger house so I can spread stuff around more. |

DM, Two parenting tips. Attach Velcro mittens without thumbs to her hands. Have the loop side of Velcro secured to the mittens. Have the other side of the Velcro attached to the things she can touch, bottles, dolls, pets, etc. Do not potty train her, ever. At 17 she will tell her date she has to be home by 11:00 no matter what. And she will be home by 11:00 no matter what. You are welcome. |
