. I don't know of a $79.99 "subwoofer" that is a real subwooofer or that is worth owning. Do not pass Go. Do not spend $79.99 plus tax. |

The only way to even get any kind of performance at all with that money is to have bought 6 of the EHQS series 12" drivers while they were in stock and mounted them in an infinite baffle, and that's assuming you have some wood lying around along with some old stereo receiver. Ah, whatever. It's really your decision in the end anyway. We only guide the decision. |

Seth, what kind of performance do you want from your sub? If all you want is some rumble while watching movies, than perhaps this will be worth the money to you. If you want it to reproduce low frequencies fairly accurately for music, Sony would not be the product of choice. And unfortnutely, it would cost a bit more than $80. Is it worth it? Depends on your expectations. Regards, Marc |

. What else could you do with $79.99 plus tax? Surely you could do something better than waste it on this "subwoofer". |

Well, Jan is much more experienced and knowledgeable on the subject than I am, so I hate to differ, but in this case I will. If all you want it for is a little rumble for movies and video games, you're not an audiophile, the price is right and your expectations aren't exceedingly high, than I say go for it. Here's a link to some user reviews. They seem generally happy with what they got for what they spent. http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/subwoofer-speakers/m/35140442/ |

. I doubt whatever I say will stop Seth anyway. It sounds like he has $79.99 (plus tax) burning a hole in his pocket. |

My recommendation is to save a little more money and buy something off of eBay or something. If you have a relatively small room, that rumbler may be fine if all you want is a little bit of "boom boom." |

Don't worry about what Sony says their wattage is, I know it's hard to understand, but it doesn't mean a thing. Yes, the Polk is better. |
