Hey guys. I've been into car audio for a long time and post in those sections a lot, but I don't know as much about home audio.

My home stereo is nothing special but good enough for me. 2 channel stereo Technics receiver/amplifier and a set of big 3way Technics speakers.

I just got a subwoofer for free, and I'm looking for a 250+ watts at 4 ohm amplifier to power it. I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible, I don't need real high end equipment. Any amp suggestions?

I will try to help here. Dont know if you are looking for a plate amp or not but you could check these out.

Connect the sub out line from your receiver and run it to something like this amp. $100 isn't bad. You know about boxes and such so try and tune lower than you would in your car. I'm happy with my 1000w dayton plate amp.

There you go lol.

It doesn't have to be a plate amp but it's what I prefer.
