Am i supposed to believe that the 30th Anniversary Pink Floyd album is supposed to be the same as the original. What exactly does re-mastered mean?
Things are sounding very different on this album than they did on the original. Not just cleaner but quite different. I think I've listened to the original enough to know that it's not the same. The sax plays more notes than before, i hear voices I didn't hear before, etc.

This is a very (well, I shouldn't say VERY but..) different sounding version of this album.
Did they sprinkle in new surprises?

Can anyone let me know what's going on?
It can't just be that I'm listening to a better version on a better stereo and now i can hear all the subtle things I could not before.

This SACD was remastered by James Guthrie thus the difference.

Though the voices are simply supernatural. LOL!

Some of the background vocals sound so different it seems it must have come from a different take. They just don't sound the same at all. Same with one of the sax bits. Near the very end someone says "I think it's nice" but on the SACD you can barley make it out at all. The voice seems quite muddied compared to the original.
