I was looking at this amp and I need 4000 watts of GOOD power, but not the most expensive watts in existence (we don't need McIntosh haha).
I looked at it and saw it can go down into the single hertz range and it weighs almost 90 pounds. I think it's a good amp, but I'm not sure.
Does it look like a good amp (google it)? |

You need a decicated G4 cable to power it.
And an upgrade of the bus on the panel to run it.

Umm..yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah.
My dad will be running a 30 amp circuit and we'll make sure everything is to code and maybe even surpasses the requirements.
I figure that will be enough since I will only need 100w to reach reference levels (in movies)...and 10w (~100dB SPL) is still louder than normal level listening.
If I am running it at high levels (like you guys probably would expect of me), the chances that the full 4300w possible from this amp (according to ratings) would be in use for more than a second or two on music are pretty low, so the 30 amp circuit could handle it.
I just want to know if this amp is going to deliver 4000w and do it well...
It's pretty much designed for subwoofer duty.

Nevermind.
I found another amp that's the top amp from that company and uses a 220-240v 30 amp supply. It's 8kw..and all the reviews I've read rate it well. |

The people I've talked to say that the F2000TX is not worth the price because it's not needed to power subs.
They also said I don't need 8000w since the VCs can't take much more than 800w. They gave me the whole thing about I don't know how much power I am dealing with (it's true, I don't) and that 900w from a different amp (3600w total) will be more than sufficient.
They're probably right, but I'm going to wait for my reply from Aurasound. |

You can't ever have too much headroom, at least I don't think.
Chances are 4000w will definitely suffice. If I get a 4000w amp to clip, my house is screaming. |

Andre, you need 50,000 watts @ .0001 THD, a 35" sub, sealed of course, speakers capable of 60,000 wpc power handling. A Job. More homework.

Great music is not, I repeat, NOT, in the volume.
Andre, you may find a day where you hear more in the nuances, and quiet passages than the shear volume you seek now.

Does having 4000w mean I'll turn it up to 120dB levels? No...it's all in the headroom.
It'd be so much easier to compare apples to apples if you were here to know the exact level I listen at. I assume that since my family is comfortable with those levels that it's not that loud...
But that's just it. Aren't the subtleties what make great music great? ... moot point
I like music with lots of dynamic range and impact. I think I remember The Zombies sounding like that on a certain song.
Whether you interpret "dynamic range and impact" as constant 90-100dB or not is out of my control.

Andre... curious what you decided on those face audio amps? I have a dealer pushing them on me, but I havent heard of the brand before, cant find much online, and have seen no local dealer selling them. Not even any of the national music/ pro audio chains. |
