Hi, I insert a disc into my player but a message "no disc inserted" appears. Generally speaking, how do players detect the presence of a disc?
I have a Sony FH-CX65 mini system. The CD player has a 5 disc CD changer. I have taken the covers off and noticed what appears to be a neon light positioned above a disc. The lamp does not emit visible light. Is it likely that this lamp is used to detect the presence of a disc, and the player is failing to detect the presence of a disc because this lamp is dead?
This product was purchased in Australia. Any other ideas how I might fix this please? TIA .... Greg
