A few months ago i bought an old dansette challenger portable from ebay. Everything was fine until recently. Of the last 6 new albums i've bought, 4 were skipping and jumping quite badly. It could just be that i've been unlucky and bought damaged records but its never happened before and now ive had 4 in the last couple of weeks. The records look brand new and no scratches can be seen. im reluctant to keep trying them incase it damages them further. my older records seem to play fine though. Have i bought damaged goods or could there be a problem with the player (stylus, cart, etc)? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
