Hi guys, I am trying to decide between these two. I don't have the option to audition them, so I need your help. The Rega is open box (no warranty), but unused. The Roksan is less than a year old. I like a tad warm sound. Currently I have a NAD 314 that is starting to die. The speakers are B&W 601's. The rest of the system is NAD 520 and Pro-Ject 1.2. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the two? Any input will be greatly appreciated. TIA, Pinaki. |

Blimey - it's been so long since I sold a Luna, I'd forgotten what it was. My recollection, for what it's worth, is that it wasn't that hot a product so I'd pass on that if I were you. |

If you decide on the Roskan, I'd love to hear what you think of it when you get it home. Supposed to be very good for the money. |

Pinaki, I just remembered that the Luna was actually a Mira without remote control, and really not that bad. Sorry but it's been ages so my models got mixed up... Regards, Frank. |

I got a Rega Luna. This is an incredible machine if You use a digital source, but you have to use it as power amplifier with an external passive pre, and You have to replace the standard filter capacitor with bigger 10'000Uf 80Volt ones (I use a sprague pair on mine Luna). Since the Rega is very litte thick you should place the 4 caps horizontally and You should solder it on the board trought extra wire. If you will make these little mods the Luna could be a true High End amplifier it will bring You close to the music as only an amplifier that cost 3 or 4000 $ can. The Rega will drive any loudspeaker as You never heard before. The disign of this Rega is amazing but a underrated PSU is the bottle neck of an high end system. Regards, Domenico |
