My gear was only stacked like that for the photo. (Sort of) In reality, the cdp is on a different shelf. Amp, pre and tuner are stacked as in my original photo up higher in the thread. I've been advised to open it up a bit, which I will try today with some wood blocks.
And it appears that Nuck has taken BOC's slogan: On Tour Forever. Hope you make it home soon! |

If I could make a 600x600 photo from the software I have, I would be a god.
640 x 480 is the smallest I can do, and the site kicks my derriere.
Admin, other sites have a sizer, is it that hard/expensive? |

Art, it ain't working here. For whatever reason I cannot get down to 600 with any tool I have available.
Dude, you done your part, I suck.
Luckily I have disc2 of 'The Wall" playing downstairs, and blasted 'run like hell' quite nicely.
The song spread wide across the whole room, and some kid was heard crying in the far room. Ever heard that?

1) Browse and find the picture
2) Select 600 pixels
3) Go down to #5 and select RESIZE
4) It will Shrink and go to another page...find "download this picture now" and select it.
5) It will download...and up will come your photo gallery...go to the upper left had corner and select "copy to gallery"
6) It is now in your gallery and all you need to do is select upload from this page, browse and find your picture select upload again in the "add image or attachment" area and you have it done. |

All the styrofoam and blocks don't interfere with the neighbors enjoyment of the base! Wait till they hear the new Velo Sub in the living room!
Most, 3/4 of the vinyl is still in storage. That shelf has 11 milk crates worth. I will try to jam another dozen into that room before the storage gets snowed in for the winter. |

Will have to make more pics again!
That should hold me a while. Went cheap for now.
Will wait a few months before going for the Apollo and Int amp.

Those are Castle Severn Speakers that I picked up used. They do sound good. I feel they are best for the bedroom because they seem to be the best low volume speakers. And I love that real wood. The Living room speakers seem better when not way down low. |

Not to worry, Art,
I replaced the MG-1s with a brand new set of
MG-1.6QRs. This was an amazing revelation to me.
I spent probably 50 hours on 'breakin', something I learned was REAL after getting my MG-1s back from rebuild. I'd have said you were loony before. I would put on the XM to a Jazz feed and let 'em go for hours.
But, the 1.6's now sound about right. Too Bad, I can't afford to upgrade to some SERIOUS power.....
Maggies like lots. The old 1's liked the 200/side of my old cube and the 1.6's seem only minimally happy with the 130/side Rotel. I suspect the 200/side Rotel would have what it takes, but I would like even more juice.
I might even try something radical.
What is the buzz on Emotiva and Coldamp?

Yeah Stu I'm messin' with alot of stuff now. I'm listening to a Sansui 6060 receiver with the Boston A120's (not their best, hoping to get some 150's or 200's) as I write this. Tierney Sutton is sounding fabulous.

I had my camera setting set at 640X480 and it still won't post pics.

Trevor try this:
Go to: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
1) Browse and find the picture
2) Select 600 pixels
3) Go down to #5 and select RESIZE
4) It will Shrink and go to another page...find "download this picture now" and select it.
5) It will download...and up will come your photo gallery...go to the upper left hand corner and select "copy to gallery"
6) It is now in your gallery and all you need to do is select upload from this page (here at ecoustics), browse and find your picture select upload again in the "add image or attachment" area and you have it done. |

As to posting pics;
1. Take photo (duh)
2. Upload to PC
3. Open with MS PowerPoint or some photo shop program.
4. Import or insert the picture, for PP it is insert file, then select the pic and open it.
4. Resize the picture
a. Click on select all.
b. Move your mouse to the corner of the pic
click on it when you get a single arrow.
c. Drag the mouse toward the center of the
picture. I take it from literally 5"x6" to
about 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". There is some
latitude to this dimension as it will
allow for various sized pictures as you
can see in the various posts above.
d. Right click on the picture.
e. Select "Save As".
f. Save it as itself, you will be asked if
you want to replace it, click on yes.
g. Do what Stu says about 13 posts above.
BTW, the program "Paint" in MS Windows Accessories will not work for this. |

New Sovtek EL34's fixed the issue, still using the stock 6N3 input tubes.
Presently driving the setup into soft distortion on Queen's 'A Night at the Opera'.
Lazing/I'm in love with my car is outstanding.
Right up there with Zep/living loving maid/just a woman. |

For photo resize for web....and Ecoustics likes 600x800 max, not 600x600......
Please try a copy of Photoshop Elements.
Learn how to resize, by going to 'Image', 'Image Size' and figure it out.
Check boxes marked 'Constrain Proportions' and 'Resample Image'.......set resolution to 72dpi and 'Bicubic Resample'.....Set 'width' and 'height' to within Ecoustics limits and you are done....and SAVE it under a new name, unless you want to dump the original.
I just checked this out on a recent photo: original was 300dpi (best for printing) and 2356x3605 and 7.4"x11.1". AFTER resample, 72dpi, at 533x800, well within Ecoustics limits.
And Folks, PLEASE try to use a Tripod indoors!
72dpi is monitor limits and 'mo ain't better for web use.
NOTE: a 5000$ camera body with a 50$ lens is much worse than a 600$ body (EOS Rebel, example) with some nice pro-level glass. You'll be glad you did. and save a TON of money. |
