My 5.1 speaker system is missing it's .1. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best subwoofer I can buy for under $100 and another under $200. If you know of one that's under $300 let me know so I can compare. I listen to TOOL, Primus, and Led Zeppelin LOUD, and sometimes have dance parties with electronic music if it makes any difference. Amazon seems to have some inexpensive ones but needed to guidance.

it is hard to get a quality sub that will play loud at the prices you are looking for IMHO.

With $300 you could always build your own if you have the tools/capability. Pair up a decent 10" or 12" driver with a plate amp in your own tuned box and call it a day. Partsexpress is a good place to start.
