That's not a better sub, Nathan.

You can't do too much better than SVS under $1000 except match it or come close to matching it. Perhaps M&K's V-75, V-76 or V-125.

Without a direct head to head comparison, how do you know which is better? If an impartial 3rd party does a test, I'd love to read it.

Personally, I'm DIY to the core. My Yamaha MX-830 amp/Cerwin-Vega V-Max 15 sub combo does VERY well.
