I just bought a Gemini XL-500II from Music123.com. It's a "New B" stock model, which means it was returned or refurbished but the price was great.

I'm looking at Grado cartridges to fit it... my local dealer has the black, the red, and the gold. Considering that I'm upgrading from an old NEC 5000E with a Shure M-92E cartridge, what cartridge reccomendations can anyone make? I'd like to not break the bank as the $60 for customs charges that I have to pay was a rather unpleasant surprise.

I'm also looking at a few other cost-effective improvements to my phono set up - should i get a Felt platter mat? What anti-static and cleaning products should I pick up?
