. It's your cash and you get to spend it anyway you like. But I would have been more impressed had he used a stock receiver as a benchmark. The comments don't really tell you how the unit is now different in sound quality than the original or what you really get for your money. And specs do not at all tell you how a unit sounds. . |

Randy must have Scrooge McDuck's money bin to buy all the gear he's ordered. And his house must be as big to stow it all. |

I'm going to buy a modified 3485 from them so I have a warranty on it. When I get it I will compare it to a unmodified unit at the stereo shop that sales them here. |

I like the idea of having more power and abit more of a bottom end from the H/K gear. I like the sound now but the improvments seem like a good idea |

Randy, How do you like the modified HK3485? I'm considering going in that direction, but would like some feedback from someone who has done this. |

Steven, Please don't get caught up in Randy's games. Every few weeks he posts about some new and amazing tweak that's the new world reference. Either technology and gadgets move so quickly that there's a new world's best every 3 weeks, he's got nothing better to do with his time and thinks trolling forums is entertaining, or he's just the biggest moron ever. I'd bet its a combination of the last two. Then again, I don't think anyone with an IQ slightly above clinically "special" would be this stupid. Look at his other threads. Its the same charade here and every other audio forum. Most places he goes by "hifi sound guy." |

Why screw with a receiver when you can get a proper amp for less? |

C'mon, Randy is harmless, right? Everyone needs a hobby, Randy's is modifying the living crap out of every piece of gear he owns. |

Ouch.and here i was curious to know how it sounded. I guess it does make sense to spend that extra money on a nice power amp after all thats the pre-outs on the hk are for right? |
