I have some cassettes from about 40 years ago. When I try to play, rewind or fast forward them, nothing happens. The tape seems to be stuck in position. It goes in and out of the tape deck without a problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks

Stick a pencil through the cassette tape spindle hole and gently turn to see if the tape will transfer to the other reel. Try other newer tapes in the deck to determine if it is your motor or loading mechanism.
