Vigne, welcome to the thread.

Tragically Hip- Grace Too
Followed by 50 mission cap.

The discs are really uneven, as a remaster, it does not cut the mustard.
The singles themselves, however, are extremely good.

Eric Clapton - The Cream of Clapton CD

The sticker on the cover states "Newly remastered from the master tapes utilizing the revolutionary Apogee U22 Super CD coding process for improved sonic accuracy".

I have not a clue what that means other than it got me to shell out $9.99 USD at Costco this morning.

Just got back from Jammin Java listening to a few up and coming artists. Sadly, they didn't feel a need to do things like a sound check, testing mics, etc.... Dah well, there is a reason I have a decent stereo :-)

Last night I started a campfire out in the back yard. Got out the ol' Dewalt boombox, a couple of camp chairs and a cooler full of beer. Mr. and Mrs. Stryvn sat down to a roaring fire around 8:30. I start to rifle up and down the tuner on the boombox. Stopped at some station or another for a tune....and the next, and the next. Turns out to be The 70's with Steve Goddard we're listening to. Next thing I know it's 1am.

This morning I wake up feeling like I've spent the night with a woman I shouldn't have.

Next saturday night we stay in the house close to the cdp. Very close.

Pink Floyd - The Live Experience - For Whom The Bell Tolls Disc 2, some a$$hole borrowed disc one, never returned it.

The Who - Who's Next vinyl

Just spent countless hours with a very patient good friend redoing my space, moving speakers, wall treatments, listening chair, and downgrading my speaker cable. I am in audio Nirvana...................YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

I could actually hear a little falsetto in one of Elvis' vocals and his Memphis twang during an "off mike" set-up.

I work a 4x10 schedule so I'm off Friday thru Sunday...it is the official the weekend...yippie!!

Yourmusic ships slower than anyone, but worth it. If you follow their similar artist links you can find a lot of good stuff for $6.99. I put 40-50 in the queue and buy when I can...since they are linked with BMG I wait until BMG offers 65% off with free shipping and buy 15-20 off of my queue then load up some more. Unfortunately it's so cheap I'm missing soem good new jazz and classical that is on my written wish list and my Amamzon wish list.

Sad news; we are losing the best independent classical music store that I know of...you'll find mention of it in my profile. The Musique Gourmet is closing it's doors after 22 years. I will miss Don Lambden immensely. He sent his loyal customers a monthly newsletter with "Don's Choice" new releases and discounts. He was also an important sponser of KWAX one of this country's finest classical music radio stations, public, no advertising and no news, just music and music education...how fresh! I made a monthly pilgrimmage to Eugene to buy new classical from Don...what a shame.

In the Apollo:

KT Tunstall "Eye to the Telescope" 6.99 at yourmusic...lol!!

Stryvn, that is one I gotta find. Mike Wodek and I were shopping a while back, and I pulled Al offa the rack on Vinyl, 'year of the cat' and suggested he might want to try it.
The price was steep, not sure if he followed through. The record company always treated Al well, throwing all the best support behind him, I think, even though the sales tailed off.
If I beg, would you send me a cd?

When my puter gets back into shape I will reciprocate.

If I spelled it right, it's the word of the day!

Playing catch up from late last week as this is a travel weekend for me.

Avril Lavigne - Girlfiends, title track on repeat for about 15 repetitions, as my grand-daughter was leaving and it is her favorite song. CD

Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset CD (Marsh's favorite CD, took about a year to replace it after it was damaged).

Preservation Hall Jazz Band - Vinyl

Nuck, I absoulutely did by Al, however you just reminded me the shop is still spinning it in their basement. Need to do something about that.

Encomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin

My local Bryston salesman liked it so much, he burned a copy while I was listening to some other stuff. There's a few very good covers in this one -

Hootie & The Blowfish covering Hey, Hey What Can I Say (I'm not a fan of Hootie, but they hit the nail on the head here)

Sheryl Crow covering D'yer M'ker

Stone Temple Pilots covering Dancin' Days

Also spun -

Tool - Undertow

Beastie Boys - Anthology
SQ is bad at best, awful at worst. Synthesized instruments sound nothing like the real thing. But, its the Beastie Boys. Nuff said.

DSOTM on the Apollo tonight, the room is empty, devoid of furniture, and beer happening, call-in pizza type of night.
I placed the speaks attacking the long part of the room, with bare surfaces, and got the result I expected. Better dipersion, more timing issues bwfore treatment.

But DOSTM was excellent, My JCM reference was really good, but I was cancelling out the reverbs and secondary sounds as I listened.
Am I listening in a more defined way?
Or should I pour another beer?\
Please advise, as the beer is close by.

Horrid, awful week gone by, it worked out today, but I payed in blood, sweat and tears.
