the Musical Fidelity 3.5 vs. the new Cambridge Audio 840C? I can't compare them side by side so the decision is even more difficult. I'm thinking that the Cambridge might have more modern technology but would like your opinion. I'm going to sell my 6 mo old Pioneer Elite 82 to get a matching integrated amp with the CDP. So what do you think ? |

I think you ought to check out the Cambridge reliability first. I have owned Musical Fidelity CD-Pre24 and it was stone reliable and bulletproof. Tweeters here in Nashville,TN has had a big problem with the Cambridge CD 840 and they keep breaking. Somebody sold management a bill of goods. They have a reliability problem. |

can't speak to the cambridge 840 but the cambridge 540Av1(for the past three years) and the cambridge 640C v2(for the past several months) have been rock solid and sound great with my PSB B 25 speakers |
