The new Yamaha HS50M active studio monitors. They are designed by the legendary designer Akira Nakamura, the man behind the legendary NS1000M and NS10M monitors used in recording studios worldwide. ...just kidding. well maybe Billy is/was right about these speakers, who knows, If anyone ever has the chance to audition them... If the new JMLab 705V's are as good as the 706S I had auditioned (a long time ago) then these would be on my shortlist. The B&W's are fine speakers as well, I liked the DM 602 S3 pretty much. |

I've heard on quite a few occasions that the "legendary NS1000M and NS10M monitors used in recording studios worldwide" were used as often as they were/are because they're a very good representation of the mass market garbage thats in 99% of the public's homes. True or not, I have no idea. I can say that I've never heard a good Yamaha speaker. |

. True of the NS10's not so with the NS1000's. The 1000's had a sound very close to the old style JBL 4311 monitor (the "legendary" L100 was the consumer version). Keep in mind the 10's were intended as near field monitors, not that that helped much. |
