Its a thought... I have a Denon stack system... which is 2x30w RMS into 4 ohms... anyhow... the speakers I have are from an old Technics mini system and they are 100w @ 6 ohms 89db...

So I was experimenting.. and I put on a 5 1/2" component... Infinity Reference 5010cs... and it sounded really good... its rated 90w RMS max at 4 ohms and is sensitive to 92db I think... but it'd sound better with the cross over I bet...

Good idea or bad idea?
The design seems the same in the form of connections etc and basket structure.

It is an idea. Whether it is good or bad depends on how you define what.
