Hi there.
I am looking for a new dvd player.

My tv is a new flat panel jobbie, with HDMI inputs. The player will just feed video to the TV.
I need the audio of the player to feed a stereo.
I do not need anything else, just a stereo feed, to the DAC or the preamp.

The Eagles suck on my present Pioneer.

I have a budget, and would like to stay below 1k for the unit, as long as it is in keeping with rest of my setup.

Nuck.

Denon DVD2930CI. If you want to have fun and give us some feedback you could always try an Oppo.

What about the Oppo, Art? I have seen the name, but not focused on it, I just got a call that the player is having fits(I had seen this), so now a better one is in the works, to keep up with the rest of the kit.
SQ, man, SQ.
And whatever video stuff.

Thanks.

I like the Deneon's video.

Art, what makes that Denon stand out above the rest for my application?
I have rec'd the Denon line for HT, (as have many), do you think that player can keep up with the DAC, or is it the better product overall for stereo reproduction, with video?

How's the weather today?
Cold 10 here inIndy.

Thanks

Video quality. Denon has stand out video quality. Use good video cables like the ones sold bt BetterCables and you can see what all the fuss is about.

Sound is very good for video applications.

My application is for SQ above all else, I can see just a picture.
Video is a bonus for reproduction of SQ, my collection of concert DVD's need SQ.

Thanks.

Sound quality relative to DVD's? I'm not sure what you are saying your application is. You have a quality CD player so you are looking for a DVD player for your HT that will sound good...does that sum it up? If so I stick with the Denon recommendation. If you are talkin' redbook playback then we are talkin about something else.

IMHO Nuck, the Denon 3930 for the money. Get the Eagles 'Hotel California' on DVD-A and in surround or 2 channel - and stand back!

This player is about the same as the 5910 with the Hollywood Realta Video processing (upscaling to 1080p I beleieve). It can't be beat for the money I think. It weighs about 24 lbs and is chock full of gooodies. See Audioholics.com, hometheatrehifi.com (shootout). Sound, video and features - it's all in this unit.

I recommend the OPPO. Their players are great and are so affordable!
