I have a Kenwood VR-207 AV Surround Receiver, which has 6-channel RCA inputs (front x2, surround x2, center and sub). I also have a Pioneer DVR5433H that I'd like to connect. Unfortunately, the Pioneer does not have the 6-channel output, but rather a DTS output. Is there a way to "split" or "convert" this DTS output into something I can connect into my receiver? Or am I doomed to buying a new one? |

You are going to need a new receiver, or a DVD player that has a 6 channel analog output. |

I guess there's two other ways around this: 1. Use the 2-channel output of the Pioneer. 2. Buy a dedicated cable to go from the Pioneer's analogue output (in Europe it's a SCART) to the 6 analogue channels, plus video (preferably s-video or RGB if in the UK). The TV won't automatically switch to the Pioneer as a source, but at least you'd get the 6 discrete channels of audio. Regards, Frank. |
