Well, I'm looking for a receiver. The brands I have access to are Rotel, Marantz, and Pioneer Elite.

I'm looking on spending around $1200 retail max. I need one with preouts for an amplifier (future upgrade) and of course good build quality. I figure this is probably a better idea than getting a surround processor. I guess maybe for the same price I could get a better surround processor so you can lead me that way as well for the same budget if you want. Thanks!

I'm not finding the best deals at this very moment, but I have something to check.

I am getting a better than retail, of course.

The Pioneer VSX-82TXS and VSX-81TXV are catching my eye(alot). I have a lot to read up on though.. I feel like pushing my sub to it's limits cause the power's back on!

Oh, and thanks for feedback about those Pioneers, The VSX-84TXSi is catching my eye pretty sharply as well as it's not horribly expensive...

Still I think the best way to choose an A/V receiver is either test it extensively in the showroom (like I did with the Seismic 10) or try it out at home extensively to see if it is what you are looking for. GREAT method lol.

That's alright I can get it for a much better deal from a local place (brand new) along with any Rotel or PE model (of course Sony ES and Marantz as well)
