Thinking about buying the 7001 or 8500. Then a co worker said he's selling his AV9000 for $500 and all i need is a 5 chanel amp to go with it. The av9000 has no Discrete 6.1/ Matrix 6,1, Neo-6,Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIx,Circle Surround II,well you get my point. Right now i have the Marantz sr6400. Which of the 3 will sound better. My speakers are Monitor Audio 9i and 12i center Polk CSi5 rears. Bob |

Bob, maybe turn things around a bit. What is lacking in your system now? Is this shortcoming likely to be rectified with a step-up in receiver? |

Bob: Must agree with Nuck here--what do you think you are missing? If anything, I wouldn't change the receiver, but I might consider an outboard power amp if, and I say if, you have a large room that the Marantz is having a hard time filling. I fail to see what any of the units you asked about will make any real improvement in your sound. |
