The shanling has a volume control and can run straight to an amp. I like that.Less in the way. Upsampling can be pypassed, also good.
This site here offers a bit of a comparo, JY, please note the Rega and it's price in pounds, as compared with the Shanling.

Quick response, TY!

Yea, Iīve noticed REGA. Actually itīs my second choice if there is 2nd choice. Rega is priced 700-800e, Shanling 1000-1100e.

JY, you caught me with coffee in hand!
I would really have to put the 2 side by side to make that call.
The volume control of the shanling is a big plus to me, but that's just minimalist me.

Can you try these at home, or at least in the same demo room? I would expect the presentation to be very different, both likely in good ways.

Can anyone descripe how apollo sounds?
Is it laid-back or more like loose from speakers?
I like warm sound, bright, musical. Can apollo deliver those needs?

What I`ve heard from rega players that they are little laid-back. Agree?
