The shoe looks vaguely familiar, think it's one of you guys. It might be the Maxell dude from the 70's still hanging around ( disregard if already posted.) Anyone identify the electronics? |

. Seems a bit of stretch to draw that conclusion from what has been posted, PG. I see nothing that has mentioned the speakers at all. Anybody who can't appreciate what a horn loaded speaker can do well has never heard a well designed and well built horn. On the same thought, anyone who can't appreciate what a small, inefficient sealed box mini-monitor can do has never heard a well designed and built small, inefficient mini-monitor. Or a planar, a transmission line, a diploe, a tube amp, a class T amp or what have you. It's seldom the priniciple that is questioned but rather the application. To come to any conclusion other than everyone gets to like what they like and can afford is ... I don't know what. . |

Lowthers? A lot of brass there. It may be bright. Or blast my pumpkin off. Anthom amps? The center mounted 5v, 20v power supply looks like an Anthem... |

. Nothing had been posted that was positive about the electronics. Nothing had been posted at all about the speakers. I just don't see how you could draw any conclusions about how we feel about horns by what had been posted. Care to explain? |

Sure. Someone posts a picture of an amazing horn-loaded system, and the reaction is cracking jokes. Such a picture on the Klipsch or Altec forums would have drawn at least something like wish I could heard that; it must sound awesome. No big deal. |

. Excuse me for cracking a joke about at outrageous system or for not being in awe of too much money spent. PG, you really need to stop being so paranoid about whether anyone likes horns, or likes Klipsch or likes anything you like. What does it matter what we think of anything? It's a big deal because you keep making it a big deal. So nobody wishes they could have heard this system. How do you know it's "amazing"? 'Cause it uses horns? Like that's a guarantee of amazing sound?! So what, you don't like mini-monitors?! Come on, PG. It's Xmas time and I'm not looking to start anything with you but you gotta stop being so damn sensitive about whether anyone here likes what you own. Give it a rest. OK? . |

As I said before, no big deal. Unless, JV, you seem to want to push my buttons again. It seems like you do. You are making a lot more out of my comment than I made out of yours. I never said I knew it sounded "amazing". You are putting words into my mouth again, likely trying to get a rise of my me. Christmas spirit... Yeah, right. |

I'm pretty certain the speakers are Avantgarde. I've heard a 'lower end' Avantgarde once (it was only about $15K) driven by Halcro amps. This may seem like the most assinine (sp?) statement I've ever made here, but the speakers did a great job of disappearing. Obviously, they need a good bit of room to breathe. As for electronics... The second component from the top in the middle rack looks like an Esoteric piece. Maybe some of the other gear is as well? |

. Am I innocent? Innocent of what? Your cynicism implies I am guilty of something. What would I be guilty of? Since I see no offense, no violation, no crime against your person, PG, yeah, I guess I am innocent. You're going to have to explain how I would not be innocent, what I would be guilty of and how this thread has suddenly become all about you being persecuted. . |

I think the OP was trying to have a little fun suggesting they look like something from outer space, however, some creative folks out there have incorporated horns into their decor so they look more like modern art pieces to me. I especially like the green ones with all the plants around them. http://www.avantgarde-usa.com/installations.html |

The silvery thing in the middle (not the equipment rack) is the bass portion of the horn speaker system. |
