Not sure how they do it, but Fry's/Outpost.com has a new pair of on sale fro $39.99. The R150 is the replacement for the R15. Looks to be a complete redesign. The R150 is now rear ported compared to the front ported R15, and the placement of the tweeter & mid-woofer have been reversed compared to the R15. I own a pair of R15s, and they're a well built, nice sounding, "work horse" pair of speakers. I'd love to know what the R150s sound like. They're big brother R300 (6.5" mid-woofer/floorstander) are also on sale there for $49.99/Each. |

Did too many people order the R150's? Because I can't find them on their site, otherwise I'd let you know how they sound ;) As it is, I'll let you know how the R300's sound |

whoa thanks! I didn't know you were online or I would have asked before ordering the first pair! Now I'm paying two shipping charges, but at these prices, no worries! Now I'll have 4 Polk pairs and hmmm 14 or 15 overall I think? I need to de-accession a pair or two, or just send them to the landfill Or maybe just the attic? |

Would you believe, in the VERY few minutes between my two orders, Frys processed 30 other online orders. We should be selling stuff online you know.. |

I had these for about 6 years - and they do sound good - even for $200. They mimic the sound of upscale speaker, by giving you a non-fatiguing soft sound. The difference is the tweeter is not transparent or exciting. It's just adequate. They do not offend, but they do not thrill either. They sound good with a lot of power fad to them - they just sing! I had a chance to talk to Mr. Polk him-self, and I thanked him for giving us this much quality for this little money - even students can afford. He said he is making them in China, so he can offer them at this price - thank low wage Chinese workers for some of the great prices these days we enjoy - if you know what to look for. |

I need the keyhole mounts that were in the R15's but am interested in this deal. Can anyone verify if the keyhole mounts still exist on the R150's? THANKS! |

Cory, The R150 is rear-ported, so I don't know if wall mounting is the best option. |

Two questions: Are the R300s floorstanding versions of R150s? How do they sound? Thanks.. |

Srinivas, The R300s are not floorstanding versions of the R150s. The R300s share the same tweeter but use a 6.5" mid/woofer, not the 5.25" used in the R150. I don't know anyone who's heard either speaker, but I have a pair of R15s that are really neat, but the R150s would seem to be MUCH better. |

Thank God Frys says 'unavailable' on those Polks. I was about to bite. Have been listening to the R300s for a month now and am perfectly happy with them for what they are. However it's been low-volume jazz and classical the whole time, I can't attest to how they might sound pumped up. |

Chris and Mike, thank you for the info.. I'm glad to hear they sound good in spite of being inexpensive. |
