I am a newbie. I have settled on the Polk rm7200 speaker set. That is based on clarity of sound, price, convenience and looks. I am reading a lot about matching recievers to different sounding speakers. Bright speaker with warm receiver ect. So I am wondering what type of sound would the Polks classify as?

The receivers I have been considering are:

Onkyo 601
HK 330
Yamaha 650-1400
Pioneer 914

Which would match best with the polks I am considering?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Josh

The H/K would be my choice. It has the best power supply and sound quality to match your Polk's. I would classify Polk's as slightly brighter than neutral and have always liked them, especially the RTi series. I traded away a pair of RT25's to a friend who needed them to finish out his system after they went out of production and I miss them very much. Great speaker for it's price. The only one of your list I would absolutly stay away from is the Yamaha as it's thin sound is a poor match with Polk. The others are ok but can't match the H/K.
