Hi - When watching recorded TV/movies (tivo) and a loud sound comes through (i.e. car crashing, explosion, etc), my Onkyo Tx-sr501 automatically shuts off into standby mode. Its like it is getting overloaded or something. Any configuration tips to prevent this from happening (it is really annoying and disruptive)? -Albee |

"Any configuration tips to prevent this from happening (it is really annoying and disruptive)? " Turn the volume down a few notches and see what happens. What kind of speakers do you have out of curiousity? They may present too difficult a load for your receiver. |

At volume 35 and below, its fine and it seems to only happen when watching something recording in Dolby Surround Sound (ie every movie) Speakers are Cambridge Soundworks: Front Newton M80s Rear Newton S200s Center MC150 Thoughts? |

How are the speaker leads connected? Are you bi-wiring the M80s? |
