I want to upgrade my speakers and am thinking about Polk LSi25. I have a Denon AVR 3802 (110w per channel at 8ohms). Any thoughts and advice? Also, besides the risk, any downside of buying new on E-Bay? |

The only precaution is making sure that you buy from an authorized dealer and Polk will not honor any warranty or support from unauthorized dealers. Check if the Ebay seller is authorized. |

George,
Those Polks are fine speakers (they are actually very good) but they are rated at 4 ohms so you will need a more powerful amp to match the same impedance. Usually amps with those characteristics tend to be more expensive.
If you have a two channel set up in mind, I would look into something like this to drive those speakers:

No prob.
I have two old Mirage bookshelf speaker for my L/R I think they are I-190. I have a Mirage center that I got used of E-Bay, two Mirage surrounds and a low end Mirage sub.
Are you still concerned the Denon isn't powerful enough? |

Looking at the specs, the Denon can handle 6 ohms tops so, I am not sure it will drive the Polks with ease. On the other hand how about these from Audiogon:

These are awesome, I heard them a while back with "Advantage" Electronics (Swedish Made) and sounded wonderful. They seem to be in good condition and are rated a 6 ohms nominal, this way you can upgrade and keep the same brand all around. Just another option.  |

I would suggest consulting with Polk in that regards. The Denon is a fairly powerful unit and could probably manage the load, but it never hurts to err on the side of caution. |
