My Sony CD-Player (CDP-270) reads original audio cds in 'cda' format but not CD-R's (audio cds in 'cda' format)

Can someone please let me know why is this that it plays original cds in cda format but not the CD-R's in cda format?

could not figure out the reasoning despite googling everywhere!

Can some audio-expert help me? Would appreciate your response in fixing this.

Thanks!

Well, first of all, alot of cd players dont play cdrs or rws. This has to do with the way there burnt, and the type of disc (notice your discs are green, theres are silver). Alot of cd players dont play those green store bought cdr's. You basically have two options. The first is to purchase a bunch of cdr's from different manufactres, every cd should be different. Next, burn the same cd on to each disc. Than, try each one. More often than not, you will find a brand (or two) that works just fine on your sony cd player. If this doesnt work, you have to buy a new cd player. One that plays cdr's. Best bet there, if it doesnt say on the box, try it in store, bring a few cdr's, try them out.
Good luck!
