My husband and I have an onyko older version receiver. He loaned it to a friend and when he got it back, when he turns it on it says "Protected". Anyone ever see this and if so what can we do about it? I cant find a user's manual anywhere to help us out or any stores that do repairs on this brand..

If leaving the unit unplugged for about an hour doesn't reset the internal computer, you will have to contact Onkyo. Where did you buy the unit?
