My ipod says that its got no memory left i ive only got 420 songs on it. ive checked that they are not long but the longest song is 4 1/2 mins. why does it hold so little?

It does not matter the length of the song. What matters would be the size of the file.

i just bought an ipod mini from ebay and i am trying to make sure it work properly cause its obvisously been used and i cannot figure out how to delete songs. Can anyone help me?? Im using itunes
