Hi Everyone ... I am in the process of finding a good service-person in Chicago to tune-up a used Nakamichi DR-3 I found on e-Bay ... Many here have mentioned and suggested that I find a tech to set up the deck for a certain tape model, and stick with that model tape for best results ...

I just would like third, fourth, fifth opinions on the matter as to the significance of this technique ... is it worth getting done?

What exactly is involved ... how probable is it that the deck could be damamged in the process ... Has anyone had this done / may you please comment on your experienced before and after the procedure? ... Thanks a Lot ...
