just purchased hts from onkyo. how do i attach my speakers to speaker stands. the top of the stand is a flat board (i assume all stands are like this). do i drill a small wooden screws through this and into the bottom of my speaker? i feel rather ignorant. thanks for your help. larry.

I have seen them screwed to the base and I have seen them sitting on top of the stands with a gum-like substance in between the speaker and the stand.
