I have a stereo set-up currenty and am looking to expand. I have a BIC-1015 250rms 10-inch sub and a set of yamaha speakers already. Looking to get either additional BIC or harman kardon speakers after i find the right receiver. Things i want in the receiver: -good sound quality -enough power (like it pretty loud) -good amount of inputs/outputs -A/B switching (hook up to computer for "B" speakers) -price (most of these speakers i have seen from $270-350) -pre outs (in case want to add amp later on) Currently leaning towards the Yamahas. Wondering if the 5760 is worth $60 more than the 5660. They both have pre outs for all channels, good sound, good weight, A/B. I read on Sound and Vision that yamaha power was pretty low when 5 channels were driven. In "open receivers," the lower model, RX-V440, only got 34 watts(15.3dBW) while its rated at 75watts. The two yamahas i'm looking at have 85 and 95 watts. Any suggestions on which receiver I should go with? |
