Have a JVC RV-B550 with a single cassette deck. Recently, tape deck has been getting the cassette head stuck in the up position. Since I don't use cassettes all that much, it wouldn't seem like a big problem. However, with the heads stuck, the stereo will not turn off. Since I would like to fix this myself, can somebody point me in the right direction as to what could be wrong. Noticed that before this occurred, the deck would sometimes not want to play going forward (only backwards). Also, when the heads stick, there is a clicking noise (5 times) before the heads relax a little. Thanks for any suggestions.

The problem must be the worn and therefore loose flywheel belt. If there are other belts in this machine-replace them all.
